中国官方不统计PM2.5水平，也就是对人体危害最大的细颗粒物。因此北京居民只能通过美国大使馆@BeijingAir的空气检测仪来了解PM2.5水平。去年11月19日，@BeijingAir曾用"crazy bad（糟得令人发疯）"来形容当天的严重污染空气，后来它改为了"beyond index"，意思指PM2.5指数超过了500。今日2月20日15时，@BeijingAir再次出现了"beyond index"，PM2.5指数达到了510。整座城市笼罩在一层烟雾之中。
